Putting the “Rage” in Average

Jonathan Taylor was ruled out Saturday, but Anthony Richardson made his somewhat triumphant return to the starting lineup in the Colts 16-10 victory over the Hawk Tua-less Dolphins.  As you’ve heard me say countless times over the years, a W is a W no matter how ugly it may have been.  Well, if how the Colts played on Sunday had asked me to prom, I would have politely told them that I had to paint my lawn, get my dog dewormed or something else like that, that night.  In my somewhat professional opinion, it was not pretty, and that’s being polite.

Anthony threw for 129 yards, going 10-24 in the completion department.  He was also the Colts leading rusher Sunday with 56 yards.  Not a stat you really want to see in your quarterback.  AR was pressured on 60% of his drop backs Sunday!  No wonder that kid led us in rushing yards!  I do have to give the O-line their props though.  That unit has only allowed one sack in their last three games.  ESPN and PFF rank the Colts Offensive Line as a Top 5 unit.  I still believe Anthony is our future and he needs to get the reps and the game time under his belt.  We still ate six three and outs in that game.  That cannot continue if we are going to get any wins out of this next stretch in our schedule.  A lot of his areas of concern should get cleaned up with additional playing, IF HE CAN STAY HEALTHY!

Miami for the most part has done a decent job keeping opposing QBs in cheque.  Most have been in the mid-100’s for passing yards except Gino Smith of the Seahawks, who torched them for 289 yards in Seattle’s drubbing of the Fish 24-3.

This season the Colts have had the uncanny ability to make average, or dare I say (dare, dare,) below average quarterbacks look like the Offensive Player of the Weak (yeah I’m sorry).  That has been the case week in and week out.  As of the conclusion of week 7 the Colts have had 4 quarterbacks go for over 200 passing yards and two of those were over 300 yards.  So, here it comes, Gus Bradley needs to go.  Shocking, I know.  Fortunately the individual play in the secondary has kept the Colts from being blown out in games, but these schemes are not helping those players out at all.  The Colts pressure rate is dwelling in the NFL basement at an abysmal 29.3%.  If Gus continues to be employed off of 56th Street we need to get D-Buck’s leadership back out there on the field as soon as possible.  If we don’t get D-Buck back soon, these next five games are going to look worse than the attendees at the Adams College Omega Moo Fall Formal.

That is the Forged Truth from the Meanie
