NFL Week 12: Dubs and Scrubs!

Man, what a fascinating week of NFL football! Some good, some bad. Fans got the first snow game, midseason collapses, and divisional games galore! Who were the best of the good and the worst of the bad? Let’s go over them!

Scrubs: Commanders

What’s going on Commanders? Two kick returns for a touchdown, and Cooper Rush torched the defense for nearly 250 passing yards and two touchdowns. Two picks from Jayden Daniels and Austin Seibert missed a field goal and two XP’s. One of them would’ve tied the game! An 86-yard touchdown by Terry McClaurin was all wiped away because of a kicker who is now on IR for the year. And to make things worse, the Eagles continue to fly away with an NFC East lead, now up by three games. And with only five games left, the Commanders can’t afford to lose too many more games. And to make things even worse, you gave the Cowboys a win!

Dubs: Buccaneers

With the Falcons burning out, now is a good time for any other NFC South to take over. A decisive win versus the Giants puts the Buccs behind two games in the South. The Falcons face winning-record teams for the next two games, and the Buccaneers face losing-record teams. Now is a perfect time for Tampa Bay to capitalize on the Falcons losing two games in a row.

Scrubs: Texans

CJ Stroud is going through a sophomore slump. A 6-2 record from week eight and then 7-5 on week twelve. Losing to the Titans has been a rare feat all season, but the Texans are breaking all the barriers and everyone’s hearts, too! The last few games are three losing-record teams and two winning-record teams. At this point, the division is the Texans to lose, as the other three teams have losing records. The Texans can still be a good team, but they MUST get over the cold streak this winter.

Dubs: Seahawks

Despite a losing record at home and a winning record on the road, the Seahawks, with a win against the Cardinals, will now ride to first place in the NFC West. The Seahawks hold all the cards and held down the Cards by not allowing more than 50 rushing yards, a 25% rate of third downs converted, five sacks, and a nice 69-yard pick-six from Coby Bryant, who was also a fantastic shooting guard and small forward for the LA Lakers, I’ve heard (R.I.P Black Mamba). But either way, a tremendous defensive win for the Seahawks gets them up in the division, and they control their destiny. They’re on the 1-yard line of a division win! Will they run it up or pass it up?

Scrubs: Steelers

Pittsburgh, you’re the most confusing team in the league. They had a five-game winning streak, and in that streak, they beat legit teams in the Commanders and Ravens. The Steelers have the pieces but can never leave anyone convinced they’re a contender. The Browns were the Steelers’ punching bag for YEARS, and since Ben Roethlisberger retired, it’s been rough for Pittsburgh in Cleveland. The offensive line couldn’t handle Myles Garrett and the rest of the pass rush. The Steelers could rebound, but a rough loss to a divisional rival that hasn’t been good all year is a tough pill to swallow. At least the game was aesthetically pleasing.

Dubs: Ravens

Despite the loss last week, the Ravens continue to show they’re dangerous. The best-running team in the league continues to run it up and manage to keep the AFC North race interesting. Derrick Henry returns to his crown, and Zay Flowers continues his rise to be the next top Baltimore receiver. Even the lackluster defense got four sacks! Next week, a HUGE matchup in a bird’s nest. They are two of the best running teams in the league, with the Ravens versus the Eagles in Baltimore. WHY COULDN’T THAT HAVE BEEN A THANKSGIVING MATCHUP!? Eating a turkey while watching Eagles and Ravens is such a vibe.

Turkey week is here, and it’s a tradition for football! Family, food, and football are full of fun and festivities! Have a good and safe week, everyone!
