After parting ways with Jerod Mayo, the Patriots have hired Mike Vrabel as their new head coach. Vrabel is no stranger to New England as he played with the Patriots for eight seasons and is inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame. He also won three Super Bowls as a player for New England.
Vrabel has held many different coaching roles in both the NFL and in NCAA football. He has six years of head coaching experience with the Tennessee Titans. Vrabel led the Titans to the number one seed in the AFC in 2021 with a 12-5 record.
During the 2019-2020 NFL season, Vrabel had gotten Tennessee all the way to the AFC Championship game, just one win short of a trip to the Super Bowl. In the first round of the playoffs that year, Mike Vrabel led the Titans to a 20-13 victory on the road against the New England Patriots.
In his career as head coach, Vrabel has 54 regular season wins and four playoff victories. Hopefully bringing in an experienced head coach can allow the Patriots’ young roster to improve and grow before the start of next season.
