Leafs sign Max Pacioretty and Steven Lorentz

The Toronto Maple Leafs took care of important business just hours before the 5pm deadline to finalize the team’s roster, signing former PTO’s Max Pacioretty and Steven Lorentz to one year deals.

Pacioretty, struggled to stay healthy in the last few seasons with two achilies ruptures, however so far, he seems to look like a good fit for this Toronto Maple Leafs team. The team announced today that the former Montreal Canadiens captain signed a one year deal, worth 873,770$. During pre-season, the veteran forward had an impressive stat line of two goals and three assists, across five games. The 35 year old will be a well needed shooting threat on the Leafs’ second power play unit, something that has been missing for some time now, taking weight off of the 1st unit’s shoulders.

Stanley Cup Champion Steven Lorentz will be apart of the 23 man roster in Toronto after signing a one year deal valued at 775k. Lorentz, is an amazing bottom six addition to the Leafs’ corps, and will be a crucial penalty killer alongside David Kampf. Lorentz, will replace Jarnkrok’s workload who is out with an injury at the moment.

Their NHL season will begin on Wednesday, where they will be in Montreal for their home opener on October 9th.
