Knuckles on Heineman: “I Love That Kid!”

Chris “Knuckles” Nilan joined Tony Marinaro last night on his podcast to discuss Montreal’s 3-0 shutout win against the high-flying Edmonton Oilers.

“I’m sure you saw. The Canadiens had an excellent third-period last night, I thought,” said Marinaro.  “They had a really good third period. There was a shift in the third period; everything started with the fourth line. Condotta, Heinenan and Armia. Condotta works his ass off, by the way. I know he doesn’t have the most talent on the team, but he works, and Heineman had five hits in last night’s game. He had five hits!

I saw them,” said Knuckles, who interjected while Tony was talking to say that he loves Heineman. “Right at the start of the game, their first shift, Condotta hit somebody behind the net right in front of me, and he hit him hard, and he kind of set the tone.”

Tony asked Knuckles if he likes Condotta.

“Yeah. He goes out there, and he plays hard every shift. Again – Heineman, I love that kid. He’s going to be a really good player for this team. He’s got a great shot, he finishes his body checks, he has hockey sense. He’s going to be a guy that helps this team down the road.”
