Down, But Not Out

Colts fans, got some bad news this Saturday morning.  Colts stud muffin, running back Jonathan Taylor, is officially ruled out from the contest against the Miami Dolphins.  JT has been dealing with a high ankle sprain which has had him out since beating the Steelers in week four.

As of the writing of this, Trey Sermon is listed as the starting running back over Tyler Goodson and then Evan Hull.  Personally, I’d rather see Tyler get the start, Hull be the backup and Sermon relegated to short yardage detail.  An article came out earlier this week casting doubt on JT’s return against the Dolphins.  Some fans have been calling for him to go on the IR, but I would have to disagree.  If we put Taylor on the IR he’s lost for the season.  Leaving him on the roster gives us the opportunity to hopefully get him healthy enough to come back and terrorize the NFL again this season.  Despite the downgrading of JT, the Colts are still listed as a three point favorite on DraftKings.

The only other player ruled out this week against the Fish is cornerback Chris Lammons.  Deforest Buckner, although eligible to come back off of IR this week, unfortunately has not.  It is nice to see the Horseshoe getting healthy at the right time as our schedule takes a nasty turn to the Darkside after the Dolphins on Saturday.
