Demidov Keeps On Rolling

The Montreal Canadiens can’t get him soon enough.

Ivan Demidov had another goal and assist in a 3-2 loss to Lokomotiv today, and his goal was trending on Twitter most of the day.

 
Both of Demidov’s points came in the first period of a game in which he played 15:48. Despite his red-hot production of late, which has seen him move into seventh place in KHL scoring with seven goals and 12 assists in 22 games, Demidov played a grand total of one second on the SKA power play.
 
Demidov is averaging 4.68 points per 60. Only one other player (Nikita Attamonov) has a mark close to 4 points per 60 – Nikita Artamonov of Torpedo is averaging 3.95 points per 60. It should be noted that Artamonov averages 2:05 per game on the power play. In contrast, Demidov has averaged 0:35. There is no other KHL player who comes close to Demidov in even-strength production per 60 minutes.
