This past weekend the Boston Bruins welcomed back former goaltender Linus Ullmark when they faced off against the Ottawa Senators. This marked Ullmark’s first game back in Boston since being traded to the Senators in June for Mark Kastelic, Joonas Korpisalo, and a 2024 first-round pick.
Ullmark spent the previous three seasons with the Bruins, playing in 130 regular season games and winning 88 of those contests. He is best remembered by Boston fans for his incredible campaign during the 2022-2023 season. In his 48 games started, Ullmark posted a record of 40-6-1 with two shutouts. He had a career high save percentage of .938% and averaged under two goals allowed per game. This career season led Ullmark to his first Vezina Trophy, awarded to the best goaltender of the year.
Linus Ullmark continued his winning ways at TD Garden this past Saturday, this time as a visitor. The Bruins fell short in overtime to the Senators 3-2. Ullmark stopped 14 of the 16 shots he faced on goal and shut down Boston on both of their powerplays.
